My website for sharing cybersecurity knowledge

Blogs, projects and cool stuff

Welcome to haveibenpwned (apologies for the pun) a personal space for my blog posts, the projects I've been working on, and a snapshot of my career in cyber security.

About me

Security-minded, curious, and always learning.

Hey, my name is Ben, I'm currently a cloud SOC analyst in my day job and I've always told myself that I would built a website one day, so here it is! I wanted to create a space where I could share my thoughts, projects and continously learn things that interest me outside of my day job.

I've always been into tech, ever since I was a kid I was always playing video games on the computer and console, as I got older I naturally became curious as to how it all worked underneath the hood. I was always the go to person in my house for when anyone had any tech issues and began my official journey in computer science when I attended college and was enrolled on a computing course. I quickly found myself drawn to the security modules, and took the most interest in them out of everything else.

After this I attended De Montfort University and studied a BSc in Cyber Security, I was lucky enough to do a work placement year at the British Heart Foundation as an information security analyst which was my first real experience working in the industry. After graduating with a 2:1 degree classification, I was then able to secure a role as a SOC Analyst at CGI where I have been working for the past year.
